Prof. Dr Julia Mendes

Dr. Julia Mendes is a civil engineer and professor at the Federal University of Ouro Preto (UFOP), also working on the Graduate Programme in Civil Engineering (PROPEC). She is the coordinator of CIDENG – Research Group on Data Science in Engineering – and a member of RECICLOS – Research Group of Solid Waste Management. She completed her PhD at UFOP focusing on sustainable cement-based composites. In the past few years, she co-chaired two extension projects: the Engineers Without Borders and the Projeto Labor (academic entrepreneurship). Her research interests include machine learning applied to construction materials, sustainable construction materials and techniques, thermal properties of cement-based composites and concrete admixtures.
